Visiting Policy and Hours
The Hospital's visiting policy has been created in response to the needs and wishes of our patients and visitors.

  • To protect our patients' health, friends and relatives who are ill should not come to the hospital to visit you.

  • For security reasons, all visitors are asked to stop at the security officers' station in the main lobby to obtain an identification badge and directions.

  • In respect for other patients, we ask that you limit your visitors to only two at any given time. Lobbies are available in all patient care areas for your friends and family to wait.

  • Children under the age of 14 are not permitted on the nursing units, except in Maternity and Pediatrics, and should remain in the main lobby with a supervising adult.

  • A clergyman of your religious preference may visit you at any time during your stay, day or night.

  • General visiting hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The visiting hours in specified nursing units are outlined below. Special circumstances may indicate the need to make an exception to our visiting policy.

Visiting Hours:
Cardiac and Intensive Care Units
Visitation is not available during staff changes, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visiting is limited to immediate family for 10 minutes per hour, or as special conditions permit.

Labor/Delivery/Recovery
At delivery, the father and one other person designated by the mother may be present. Children under the age of 14 years may be present only during labor and after delivery, but not during the actual birthing process. If other family members are present, they may visit new parents after delivery.

Maternity
The visiting policy for Maternity has been developed to provide the family with every opportunity to visit during the mother's hospitalization. Visitors are welcome during regular Hospital visiting hours from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Our visiting policy welcomes all children as long as they are illness free. For the safety and security of you and your baby, please check with your nurse for specific information about our visiting policy.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Visiting is permitted, except during shift change from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Only parents, grandparents, or healthy siblings may visit and a parent must accompany siblings.

Pediatrics
Parents may visit at any time. Healthy siblings may visit pediatric patients during regular visiting hours, but they must be accompanied by a parent at all times during their visit.

Special Circumstances
Special circumstances may indicate the need to make an exception to our visiting policy.
A request can be made to the patient's nurse.
